Conscious Activism Documentary Series - Toronto, ON Canada

Hart House continues its tradition of free programming that engages the mind, awakens the spirit and acts as an incubator of thoughtful exchange, and a call to action for the curious and the concerned. Born of a desire to address injustice, each documentary we screen is an exploration of the complex relationship between social justice, spirit and activism. This semester’s screenings follow our model of showing award-winning documentaries that represent a diverse landscape spanning local, national, and global issues of social justice, and giving audiences the opportunity to engage the filmmakers and activists involved.

Festival Do Rio - Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

From September 26 to October 10, 2013, Rio de Janeiro will be the world capital of cinema. Festival Do Rio brings hundreds of titles from more than 60 countries, including the highlights from the biggest festivals in the world; from Cannes to Venice, from Berlin to Sundance, Toronto, Locarno and San Sebastián. New Zealand Premiere

The film screened alongside some fantastic films, and abunch of great lectures and events. Sadly we were unable to attend, especially because Palmerston North is the birthplace of Director Matt Anderson's Great Grandfather.

West Coast Premiere

SF DocFest - San Francisco, CA

SF DocFest was very supportive of our film. We had great screenings at both the Balboa and the Roxie theater. It was great to meet the staff, and Jeff M. Giordano's Q&A at the Roxie was really thoughtful and fun. We even had time to dip out to Bolinas and drive back along the coast on our way back to LA. Thankful to have been a part of such a great festival!

International Premiere at the Royal Ontario Museum Theater

HotDocs - Toronto, ON Canada

We had the full screenings at HotDocs in Toronto, Canada! It was amazing to have so many vibrant Q&A's, and many long discussions with people afterwards. The festival staff was amazingly fun and supportive. We met many fellow filmmakers and had a blast at the great events surrounding the festival. We can't wait to go back to HotDocs in the future!

Minnesota Premiere

Minneapolis / St. Paul International Film Festival - Minneapolis, MN

The Minneapolis St. Paul Film Festival was fantastic. I met a lot of enthusiastic audience members after the screenings, and even had the chance to visit the Dream of Wild Health farm. A big thank you to the wonderful staff and film society for having us. They really support the filmmakers, many of whom I met. I hope to return to this wonderful festival in the future!

Nashville was a blast! I had so much fun meeting both the energetic festival staff, and the many local groups commited to important work in their communities. World Premiere at the Historic Paramount Theater
